Tools & Equipment

It’s a means to an end, but people ask… Here’s some information about the some of the I equipment I depend on.

Cameras. For whatever reasons, I’ve had Nikon’s all along growing up, and stayed with them as their digital cameras evolved. As of January 2012, I use Nikon D3′s and D700′s. I’m undecided on the D4, fairly definite about a D800 if what they say about high resolution holds true. I also use an iphone quite a bit, as well as various flavors of point & shoots (Fuji X100 etc.).

Computers. Apple. Displays are Apple Cinema at the moment, calibrated using an Xrite i1 Display (I’ve been through 8-10 years of up’s and downs with color calibration and management, i1 Display is really good. And easy to use).

Printers. Prints up to ~24″ are either done by myself on an Epson 7880 or by Chris Clancy at Gordon’s Ink. I also use an Epson 3880 for small quantities of notecards.

Software. Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop.

Lighting. Nikon speedlights, Elinchrome packs and softboxes.
